Russia, Burkina Faso plan to cooperate on civilian use of atomic energy

Last year’s WRC season champion Kalle Rovanperra was the fastest in Wednesday’s shakedown for the 2024 WRC safari rally, which kicks off tomorrow at KICC.

The Toyota Gazoo’s driver, navigated by Jonne Haltunnen, completed the Loldia stage shakedown in 3:32.1, followed by Hyuandai Thierry Neuville in 3:32.3, while his teammate Essapeka Lappi finished 3rd, clocking 3:32.4.

Kenyan Karan Patel, navigated by Khan Tauseff in a Skoda Fabia R5, was the fastest local driver with a time of 4:06.5 and 15th overall, followed by Carl Tundo with his co-driver Tim Jessop driving a Ford Fiesta R5 in 4:13.3.

KNRC current leader Singh Vorrah Samman, navigated by Khan Alfir in a Skodia Fabia R5, finished 3rd amongst the local drivers and 20th overall.

Drivers who competed in Wednesday’s shakedown at that Loldia stage exuded confidence in posting good results in the Kenyan leg, which is making a return to its traditional Easter holiday for the first time in 26 years.
