Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) detectives on Wednesday raided the Nairobi and Marsabit homes of former Treasury Cabinet Secretary Ukur Yatani and Governor Ali Mohammud Mohammed over alleged corruption.
The two were interrogated separately over alleged embezzlement of funds from Marsabit County Government.
While Yattani was picked from his Nairobi home, Governor Mahammud was arrested in Marsabit, the two said to have been involved in the alleged embezzlement of Ksh 8.2 billion from Marsabit County.
The commission managed to impound computers, documents and two safes from the Former Treasury CS residences which they maintained are crucial to the investigations.
Yatani was grilled by the detectives at Integrity Center and was accompanied by his lawyers Senior Counsel James Orengo and Otiende Amollo.
Mohamud, on the other hand was grilled in Isiolo.
Yatani was the Marsabit governor between 2013-2017.
