The National Men’s Soccer team Harambee stars hosts South Sudan today in the return leg of the Africa Nations championship first round regional qualifiers at the Nelson Mandela stadium in Uganda .
Harambee stars were beaten 2-0 by South Sudan in the first leg held in Juba and must overturn the results to advance to the final round where they will face either Djibouti or Rwanda in December in another two legged affair.
Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania are taking part in the qualifiers despite having automatically qualified as co-hosts of the Africa Nations Championship scheduled from the 1st to 28th of February next year.
Head Coach Engin Firat rang changes to the squad that played in Juba. Goalkeepers Bryne Odhiambo of Bandari and Farouk Shikalo of KCB retain their spots while Ibrahim Wanzala of Kakamega homeboyzs was dropped.
Sylevester Owino of Gor Mahia and Kenya Police Daniel Sakari are the only defenders who were retained from the first leg with Abud Omar of Kenya Police, Ian Karani of Kariobangi sharks, Charles Momanyi of Tusker,David Ochieng of Kenya police and Siraj Mohammed of Bandari getting their call ups.
Patrick Otieno of KCB is the only striker who was retained and will be joined by Ryan Ogam of Tusker, Moses Shuma of Kakamega Homeboyz and Francis Kahiro of KCB.
The new inclusions in the midfield are Fidel Origa of Bandari, Caleb Olilo of Posta rangers and Mooitian Leshan of Ulinzi stars.
