You were sacked for incompetence – MP Manduku tells former education CS Machogu

Ex-Cabinet Secretary for Education Ezekiel Machogu was Friday accused him of waging a campaign to tarnish the reputation of other Gusii leaders.

Daniel Manduku, (Nyaribari Masaba) now claims Machogu was sent packing from the government over dismal performance and lethargy.

“You were sacked for incompetence, stop lecturing us, just enjoy your retirement in peace,” an irked Manduku said.

Machogu was sacked during a cabinet reshuffle following fiery Gen Z protests against the William Ruto government.

After year in silence, he resurfaced with a scathing criticism accusing the UDA MPs from Gusii of engineering his sacking by peddling cheap lies to the president.

Manduku, however termed the sentiments as abysmally low.

He described them as “foul and irresponsible” especially coming from a former CS.

The MP particularly censured him for “demeaning him and his Nyaribari Chache counterpart, Zaheer Jhanda, during a recent burial in Nyanturago.

This definitely portrays him as unfit for another future political office, he said..

“Leadership comes with responsibility, and even after leaving office, one should uphold decorum and integrity,” Manduku said while addressing a crowd in Nyaribari Chache during a fundraiser

Jhanda who was present did not comment on the issue.

“We cannot allow a disgruntled former official to pollute public discourse with insults and lies.”

Efforts to reach Machogu for comment were unsuccessful.

An aide, however, fought the MP’s outbursts describing them as gimmick “deflect the debate in the constituency about his failures”.

“He should face the electorate to explain what he has achieved since he entered office than fighting Machogu,” stated the aide in a text.

The latest exchanges appear to highlight growing tensions between the two as the 2027 elections draw nearer.
